How to make a cake in America ?

You thought that Americans made cakes in the same way as the French? But it’s not!

They don’t make cakes themselves, they buy ready-to-use preparations and just add eggs, water, and oil. The « pastry » aisle of supermarkets are filled with these boxes. And even cream that you can put on the  top of cupcakes also.

I reassure you I still managed to find the flour and the baking powder to make cakes by myself, but the pastry aisles are not as filled as in France…

I still wanted to try a cake with a preparation, so, I’ve tested it for you! I chose a lemon cake and I put the dough into cupcakes cases. All in the oven during 20 minutes and it was ready!

Verdict: Well it’s not bad! The cakes are very moist and tasty. Even the husband loved them!

Benefit: This allows the husband who doesn’t know how to cook to make me chocolate cakes and brownies (The husband eats chocolate at morning lunch and dinner of course!).
